on the other hand, you get stuff like code completion, and I haven't been able to teach the eclipse colorer how to recognize python/renpy code blocks and their nesting for working folding support).Īnyway, the only problem I have is that I'm not sure how to open the error and trace files inside eclipse (starting renpy from inside eclipse is not a problem, but using a running instance of eclipse to open a file would probably require some nontrivial IPC), but otherwise I'm quite happy with it.Īnyone else who'd be intrigued by the idea of a Ren'P圜lipse IDE? Probably not, because people here don't like heavy java apps Just in case, I'm attaching a screenshot of how it currently looks. There's also a working python plugin for Eclipse, PyDev, but I haven't tried that (and since it has a more heavy approach to syntax parsing, it would probably be a bit complicated to adapt it to renpy syntax. What I'm currently using is Eclipse with the Eclipse Colorer plugin for syntax highlighting (+ a custom syntax description file based on the python highlighter).
